Early Life
Swamiji was born on the 19th of December, 1960 and spent his early years in different parts of India with his parents. He completed his B.Tech at IIT, Delhi and subsequently his post-graduate management degree at IIM, Kolkata. Soon, he was walking the corridors of one of the biggest corporate houses in India and a flying career was set to take off.
But Swamiji had other ideas. Slowly but steadily, his interest in the world of spirituality and search for a deeper meaning in life had grown from very early age. Swamiji recounts his experience as a youngster when he used to spend long hours in meditation and contemplation. His interest widened as he breezed past high school and college. He would pour into books of saints and scriptures to understand their teachings and increasing spend more time thinking about God than anything else. By the time he graduated, his hunger for spiritual awakening grew ever stronger and he started to follow the path ofShree Krishna Bhakti. Within a few months of his first job, he was already typing his resignation letter! Swamiji’s life took a turn for good with his renunciation of material progress and life. Taking up the order of Sanyas,he soon set out on a path of spiritual journey that took him to the holy land of Braj and many other places across India. His experiences with enlightened and scholarly saints only made his will stronger. His determination to find a true spiritual master was unflinching, and he continued his journey towards God for many years, learning from the holy saints he met with.During these travels, he closely associated with many elevated Saints of India, read the writings of the great Acharyas of the past and practiced intense devotion.
Education
Swami Mukundananda finished his B.Tech. from the world-renowned Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Delhi. He then completed his MBA from the equally revered Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Kolkata. After that, he worked for some time with one of India’s topmost industrial houses. Soon, the longing for God was so strong that he renounced his career and traveled throughout India as a sanyasi.

Meeting the Spiritual Master
After many years, by the grace of Lord Krishna and his Guru, Swami Mukundananda finally found solace at the lotus feet ofJagadguru Shree Kripaluji Maharaj. He was overawed by the unfathomable scriptural knowledge and ocean of Divine love that he saw manifest in his Spiritual Master. About this first meeting, Shree Maharajji later remarked, “He recognized me as one would recognize his mother.” Under the guidance of Shree Maharajji, he practiced intense sadhana while residing at the ashram. He also extensively studied the Vedic scriptures, Indian and Western systems of philosophy. Upon completion of his studies, his Guru entrusted him with the key task of propagating the ancient knowledge of the Eternal Truth the world over. Swamijiwas first introduced to yogasans and Hatha Yog meditation techniques in childhood, and he continued its practice while growing up. As he transitioned toBhakti Yog, he changed his meditation techniques, but continued with his daily practice of yogasans. Seeing his interest in Yog, Kripaluji Maharaj asked him to teach a holistic system of Yog to correct the anomaly in the Western world, where Yoga was being taught as a mere physical science. On his Spiritual Master’s instructions, Swamiji visited reputed Yoga Universities all over India, studying their yogic techniques. He then incorporated the best practices of Hatha Yog and amalgamated it withBhakti Yog, to formulate the system of “Jagadguru Kripaluji Yog.”
