I bought a bag of Ruffles, a week ago I had Wavy Lay's at my folks house. Using the same dip, noticing the Ruffles break more often. Think it might be a thinner cheap. Flavor is right there though. I give Wavy Lay's points for durability.

I like both but for dips Wavy Lays are the way. I will concede they are more sturdy. Ruffles were breaking a lot. But the Lay's taste like cardboard. Also they have some good flavours. Lays Wavy only ever come in plain. Might be small town problems for me. In my northern Canada town it's Original and Lightly Salted. Still only two real flavours, Ranch and Hickory, the rest of variations of salt and/or pepper. Ruffles has a lot more flavours.
